Our Women’s Ministry strives to meet the needs of all the women in our church and the surrounding community through Bible Study, Fellowship, Special Events and Programming and Missions.

We try to provide something for everyone from high school/college age through senior adulthood and are working to add new programming to expand our ministry. You can join in a community of women whose aim is to grow closer to their Lord Jesus Christ and to encourage one another in Christian love. See Study options under below.

MasterLife Together: A Discipleship Experience for Small Groups

Led by Michelle RobertsonWhat would it be like to follow Jesus with your entire being? Avery Willis’s MasterLife has helped hundreds of thousands of Christians progress in many key disciplines of the faith, including prayer, personal purity, living in the Word, witnessing, and others. This updated resource incorporates key components from the original version but is written for a new generation of believers. The content is simple but comprehensive. Exercises take 15 to 20 minutes per day and include memorizing an assigned Scripture verse each week. The exercises are often experiential and require participants to be vulnerable and reflect on every realm of their being—listening as the Holy Spirit reveals personal applications. This insight can then be shared in group sessions as a way to emphasize authenticity and increase accountability. An excellent resource to help persons move toward maturity in Christ and gain victory over areas of weakness, MasterLife Together is appropriate for both new Christians and experienced believers.

Luke in the Land by Kristi McLelland

The land of Israel—the place Jesus walked and taught during His earthly ministry—is often referred to as the “fifth Gospel.” Follow Kristi McLelland through Israel as we study snapshots from the Gospel of Luke to see where the stories of the Bible took place. Over 7 sessions, challenge the way you read the accounts of Jesus through teaching videos that take you to locations in Israel like Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Gethsemane, Jerusalem, and the road to Emmaus. Along the way, you’ll see how Jesus, the Messiah, brought His kingdom to earth for everybody.
Hosea by Jennifer Rothschild

As an account full of harsh judgment unfolds, we find in its midst a rare and pure gem: the truest and purest of loves. Hosea, an Old Testament prophet, preached his own life message using his marriage as the sermon illustration. The study of Hosea looks deeply at that message. In this 7-session Bible study, Jennifer Rothschild provides background to better understand the intricacies of the man and his message. You’ll be guided to understand, but more especially to apply the message of the prophet of love. The book will challenge us with judgment so harsh it will singe our hair—an unheeded sermon warning of devastating doom shortly to come. But it will show us the kind of love we dream about. Be amazed by the love of Hosea for his wayward spouse—and more amazed by the unfailing love of God for His wayward people, and for all people. Hosea showers us with hope—hints and portents pointing to the coming of the promised Messiah.

An Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) provides you with an opportunity to be involved, known & loved within Mount Vernon. ABF classes provide opportunities for Bible study, building relationships, prayer & service.
ABFs are groups of about 8-100 members who meet together each Sunday. The size of these groups makes interactive learning very effective and relationships easy to form.
