Our Women’s Ministry strives to meet the needs of all the women in our church and the surrounding community through Bible Study, Fellowship, Special Events and Programming and Missions.
Women’s Studies
We try to provide something for everyone from high school/college age through senior adulthood and are working to add new programming to expand our ministry. You can join in a community of women whose aim is to grow closer to their Lord Jesus Christ and to encourage one another in Christian love. See Study options under below.

Luke in the Land by Kristi McLelland

Books $25; E204; Led by Michelle RobertsonIn our Bibles, we have four Gospels describing Jesus’s time on earth: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The land of Israel—the place Jesus walked and taught during His earthly ministry—is often referred to as the “fifth Gospel.” Follow Kristi McLelland through Israel as we study snapshots from the Gospel of Luke to see where the stories of the Bible took place. Over 7 sessions, challenge the way you read the accounts of Jesus through teaching videos that take you to locations in Israel like Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Gethsemane, Jerusalem, and the road to Emmaus. Along the way, you’ll see how Jesus, the Messiah, brought His kingdom to earth for everybody.

Books $13; E204; Led by Michelle RobertsonOne of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to cease from all the activities and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. By neglecting time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some of God’s greatest gifts. In the Old Testament, Sabbath was given to the Israelites as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted, then the concept of Sabbath will change your life.

Questions like these arise when we consider an eternal future beyond this physical life. How can we know the truth about what comes next? In this 7-session video-based study, Jennifer Rothschild explores the subject of Heaven from a biblical perspective. She will separate what’s true about Heaven from what’s based on legend, media depictions, and hopeful guesses. As you walk through the study, you’ll not only gain a deeper understanding of what God has prepared for His children, but also learn how to live with confidence today as you look forward to the glorious unending that awaits. Don’t just wonder about Heaven—embrace it with a faith that turns anticipation into excitement and peace.

An Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) provides you with an opportunity to be involved, known & loved within Mount Vernon. ABF classes provide opportunities for Bible study, building relationships, prayer & service.
ABFs are groups of about 8-100 members who meet together each Sunday. The size of these groups makes interactive learning very effective and relationships easy to form.
