What is DNOW?

• DNOW is short for Disciple Now Weekend. It is a weekend retreat (Friday-Sunday) put on by Mount Vernon Student designed to challenge students with the good news of Christ. Instead of going off to a retreat center we will place our students in some of the homes of our volunteers. It is a sure way of getting to know other students like you that are involved in our Student Ministry. It is an overnight event so feel free to get a group of your friends and attend together!

Why should I attend?

• You should attend DNOW because it will be a fun-filled, action-packed, mind-challenging, heart-engaging weekend. The weekend will have worship times with a band and speaker and small groups for all ages. You will get to be loud, crazy, eat good food, hang out with your friends, make new friends, and most of all learn to be challenged spiritually from God’s Word. One thing is for sure…you won’t regret this weekend!

What if I have a school event or sports event that weekend?

• No worries. If you have an already scheduled event like a basketball game then you can come to DNOW and leave for your game when you need to and then return for the rest of the weekend. All you will need is for you or your parent to fill out a “Time Away” card that we will have available online at mvbcnow.org/students.

What if I bring a friend who is not in my grade?

• We will have the small groups and host homes broken up by grade & gender, but if you bring a friend who is not in your grade we will allow them to be with you (unless they are not your gender of course). After all, they are your friend!
