About the Event
First Baptist Church Norfolk is hosting a community block party to bring families and individuals together for a day of fun, fellowship, and hope. This event is about more than just games and food—it’s about building meaningful relationships and reflecting the love of Christ through joyful moments and genuine connections. Families will experience a welcoming atmosphere filled with bounce houses, engaging activities for children, delicious food, and uplifting music that fosters celebration and community. We’ll also provide prayer stations, where guests can share their burdens, seek encouragement, and feel the presence of a church that truly cares.
Volunteers will help set up for the event, welcome families, pray with families, run games and bounce houses, and help clean up after the event.
Tentative Schedule for Block Party
- 7:30-8:30am: Check-in at Hub Location
- 8:30am: Welcome; Morning Devotion; Instructions for the day; Prayer Time
- 9am: Dismissal to Project Site
- 9:15am: Morning briefing at Project Site
- 12pm: Lunch at Project Site
- 1pm-4pm: Project work (Block Party)
- 4pm: Debriefing at Project Site; Pack up to return to Hub Location
- 5pm: Dinner & Rally
- 7:15pm: Return to Mount Vernon

SERVE TOUR
In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Virginia Beach. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
